2AM disbands as two members quit

JYP Entertainment‘s ballad group, 2AM, has come to an end as two members did not extend their contracts with the agency.

Members Jo Kwon, Seulong and Jinwoon‘s exclusive contracts expired in February 2015. According to a JYP representative, “Jo Kwon has recently decided to remain at JYP, while Seulong and Jinwoon both decided to head to different agencies to take on new challenges and changes.”

Seulong is reported to head to the agency Sidus HQ, home to many actors and actresses, as he wishes to focus on his acting career more. Jinwoon, on the other hand, is currently negotiating a contract with Mystic Entertainment, the agency run by singer and producer Yoon Jong Shin.

A representative said, “JYP respects individual artists and the agency has supported Seulong and Jinwoon while they were looking for new companies.” About the possibility of 2AM working together again, the rep added, “There are no ill feelings between the members. If the conditions and requirements are right, there is the possibility that they can carry on group activities.”

Meanwhile, 2AM member Changmin still has six months left until his contract expires.
